Mastering French Press Coffee: Three Innovative Brew Methods

Ingredients

š§ 680ml Water just off the boil
š Caffi Paper Coffee Filters
š„ A standard spoon
Instructions
1- General Setup (applies to all methods):
- Measure 40g of coffee beans
- Measure 680ml of water and heat until just off the boil
- Grind the coffee beans to a medium coarse consistency
2- Method 1: Quick Brew:
- Add the medium coarse coffee grounds into the Bodum French Press
- Pour 680ml of hot water over the grounds in the French Press
- Steep for 4 minutes
- Attach the plunger lid to the French Press
- Gently press down the filter plunger very slowly to minimize sediment
- Pour the coffee into your cup and enjoy
3- Method 2: Cupping Method:
- Add coffee grounds to the Bodum French Press and pour in 680ml of hot water
- Steep for 4 minutes without placing the plunger
- Use a spoon to break the surface "crust" of coffee grounds
- Skim off any floating grounds with a spoon
- Let it rest for 5 more minutes to let the sediments settle
- Carefully attach the plunger lid without pressing it down
- Slowly pour the coffee into your cup
4- Method 3: The Sock (Paper Filter Method):
- Line the French Press with a Caffi paper filter
- Add coffee grounds into the lined French Press
- Pour 680ml of hot water onto the grounds
- Tuck the filter's flaps inwards to cover the coffee
- Place the plunger on top without pressing
- Steep for 4 minutes
- Gently shake the French Press to help grounds settle
- Press down the plunger slowly to filter the coffee
- Pour into your cup and enjoy the sediment-free coffee
