Instructions

  • Grind approximately 17 grams of coffee beans directly into the portafilter.

2- Distribute and Level Grounds:

  • Distribute the coffee grounds evenly in the portafilter basket.
  • Use the WDT tool for optimal consistency.

3- Tamp the Grounds:

  • Place the portafilter on the tamping mat.
  • Use the tamper to press the grounds firmly, creating a compact and level puck.

4- Prepare the Espresso Machine:

  • Purge the espresso machine's group head by briefly running hot water through it for temperature consistency.

5- Secure the Portafilter:

  • Secure the prepared portafilter into the group head of the Astoria espresso machine.

6- Position Serving Glass:

  • Position a small clear double-walled glass under the portafilter spouts.

7- Extract the Doppio:

  • Start the doppio extraction by pressing the corresponding button on the machine.
  • Aim for an extraction time of around 25 seconds.

8- Serve and Enjoy:

  • Once the extraction is complete, remove the glass with the freshly brewed doppio.
  • Enjoy immediately.
